President Donald Trump was encouraged by his conversation Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, offering a cautiously optimistic tone that peace can be achieved in the ongoing war against Russia.

“I just spoke to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine. The conversation went very well. He, like President Putin, wants to make PEACE,” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.

Trump also spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier Wednesday and urged that negotiations begins immediately to put an end to the nearly three years of bloodshed. The two leaders also agreed to visit “each other’s nations,” in the future, Trump wrote.
