On Monday, Governor Glenn Youngkin amended legislation that would force the Loudoun County School Board elections to take place a year earlier than previously scheduled. The amendment came as part of a busy day for the governor, as he signed into law more than 700 pieces of legislation and vetoed 25 and amended an additional 114 bills. The Office of Governor Glenn Youngkin announced on Friday that he had signed a bill that will force the state’s Department of Education to develop policies to ensure parents in the Commonwealth are notified when sexually explicit materials are included in a classroom’s curriculum. The legislation introduced by State Senator Siobhan Dunnavant (R-Henrico) also requires local school boards to adopt the policies developed within the Department of Education.Read more
