WASHINGTON– The search is on right now for 19-year-old Shawn Addison of Washington.

According to Prince George’s County police, he escaped police custody after slipping out of handcuffs at approx 1:45 p.m.

Police said he had been arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

Minutes later, Addison jumped into an SUV that was left running in a nearby neighborhood and took off.

Police said the stolen vehicle is a gray RAV 4. While officers pursued Addison, they lost sight of him on Southern Avenue. Police do not believe he is armed.
