Approval of articles of impeachment is considered likely in the Democratic-majority House.
  • Nancy Pelosi snaps at reporter after question about hating Trump: ‘Don’t mess with me.’ House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., attempted to shut down a reporter on Thursday, telling him not to “mess” with her after he suggested that she might hate the president. “As a Catholic, I resent your using the word hate in a sentence that addresses me. I don’t hate anyone. I was raised in a way that is a heart full of love and always pray for the president. And I still pray for the president. And I pray for the president all the time, so don’t mess with me when it comes to words like that,” she said. Sinclair reporter James Rosen had asked Pelosi: “Do you hate the president?” “I don’t hate anybody,” she initially shot back. She wagged her finger and pointed at Rosen, telling him not to accuse her of hating someone. Rosen denied doing so. After Pelosi’s presser, President Trump appeared to address the issue on Twitter.
  • Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 18h18 hours ago Nancy Pelosi just had a nervous fit. She hates that we will soon have 182 great new judges and sooo much more. 6am – A         Biden lashes out at town hall questioner in heated exchange: ‘You’re a damn liar, man.’ Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden blasted a man at an Iowa town hall as a “damn liar” Thursday — and challenged him to a push-up contest — after he accused the 77-year-old former vice president of being “too old” and took a swipe at son Hunter’s role on the board of a controversial Ukrainian natural gas firm. During the heated question-and-answer session at the forum in New Hampton, the questioner in the audience described those two issues as his chief concerns with the presidential candidate. “I’m not a Republican,” the man began. “I’ve got two problems with you. One, is you’re damn near as old as I am. You’re too old. I’m 83 and I know damn well I don’t have the mental faculties I did [inaudible.]” He went on to the topic of Ukraine — specifically the lucrative job Biden’s son Hunter held with natural gas firm Burisma Holdings during the Obama administration. Impeachment proceedings in Washington are focusing on Trump’s effort to pressure Kiev to look into the elder Biden’s role removing a prosecutor who had been looking into that firm. “But on the other hand, you sent your son over there to get a job and work for a gas company where he had no experience. … In order to get access for the president … you’re selling access to the president just like he was,” the questioner said. Biden fired back: “You’re a damn liar, man. That’s not true and no one has ever said that.” The claim that Biden “sent” his son to Ukraine for a job at Burisma is not accurate. Someone appeared to attempt to take the microphone away from the man in the audience, but Biden stopped them, saying, “let him go.” “Look, the reason I’m running is because I’ve been around a long time and I know more than most people and I can get things done,” Biden said. “And you want to check my shape? Let’s do push-ups together man, let’s run, let’s do whatever you wanna do.

  • Legal scholar ‘inundated with threatening messages’ after testimony opposing Trump impeachment. (Fox News) – Jonathan Turley, a witness during the House Judiciary Committee’s first public impeachment hearing Wednesday, said he has been “inundated with threatening messages” since his testimony, which argued that Democrats do not have enough evidence to support articles of impeachment against President Trump. “Before I finished my testimony, my home and office were inundated with threatening messages and demands that I be fired from George Washington University for arguing that, while a case for impeachment can be made, it has not been made on this record,” Turley wrote in an op-ed for The Hill on Thursday. The law professor appeared alongside three other legal scholars with opposing views Wednesday. He warned that Democrats would be ill-advised to rush to a vote on impeachment articles because they do not have a complete record of witness testimonies and supporting evidence to prove that Trump abused his power to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings there.

It was also the biggest single-day drop for the company since October. Peloton’s stock price had been gaining at a steady clip through November, making up for its disappointing September initial public offering. Shares of Peloton, the buzzy bike startup, fell more than 9% on Tuesday as backlash to a new holiday ad built on social media.
