INTERVIEW – KEN CUCCINELLI – acting Director of US Citizenship and Immigration Services — discussed the latest fiscal year border migration numbers, his sparring with Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Capitol Hill and MS-13 threatening a local high school in Montgomery County.

• DHS Expands MPP Operations to Eagle Pass: Department of Homeland Security has begun processing migrants for return to Mexico under the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) at the Eagle Pass Port of Entry, in Eagle Pass, Texas. This brings the total number of ports of entry where MPP returns will be made to six. 
• U.S. and El Salvador Sign Arrangements on Security & Information Sharing; Give Salvadorans with TPS More Time: Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin K. McAleenan, El Salvador Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill, and Acting Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Ken Cuccinelli announced the two countries have signed a number of documents to implement greater collaboration on information sharing, border and aviation security, and international diplomacy, and announced additional time for El Salvadorans with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to repatriate.
• CBP Releases Fiscal Year 2019 Southwest Border Migration Stats: Of note— CBP personnel took more than 1.1 million enforcement actions nationwide in Fiscal Year 2019, a 68 percent increase over the preceding year. The surge in enforcement actions was driven largely by activity on the southwest border, where CBP personnel: –  Apprehended 851,508 migrants between ports of entry, including a record-breaking 473,683 family units; Encountered a record 126,001 inadmissible individuals at ports of entry; and Rescued more than 4,900 migrants. CBP addressed the unprecedented migration flows in part by constructing 76 miles of new border wall system in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. An additional 156 miles of wall are currently under construction, with 276 miles in the preconstruction process.
• CUCCINELLI PUSHES BACK ON DWS: Cuccinelli tangles with Wasserman Schultz after ‘white supremacist’ claim: ‘That’s defamatory’ (Fox News) — Acting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Ken Cuccinelli clashed Wednesday with Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., after she accused him and President Trump of following a “white supremacist ideology” by allegedly trying to block non-Caucasian migrants from entering the U.S. “My constituents, Americans across this country aren’t fooled by this administration’s specious attempts to distinguish between documented and undocumented immigration,” Wasserman Schultz told Cuccinelli at a House Oversight subcommittee hearing on the treatment of migrants. “You and Mr. Trump don’t want anyone who looks or talks differently than Caucasian Americans to be allowed into this country,” she added. “That’s false,” Cuccinelli shot back. He was then interrupted by the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman, who told him not to interrupt her, but he carried on: “That’s defamatory.” “Excuse me, there’s nothing defamatory about it,” she said.
• Sanctuary County: MS-13 Gang Threatens ‘Retaliation’ at High School. A Maryland school located in a sanctuary county needed extra security on campus this week after being threatened with “retaliation” by the violent El Salvador-based MS-13 Gang, according to officials. The Albert Einstein High School in Montgomery County, Maryland — a sanctuary county that shields illegal alien criminals from deportation — was forced to increase security this week after authorities said the violent MS-13 Gang made credible threats of “retaliation.” Police said the retaliation threat by MS-13 gang members was in relation to an incident last week, though they would not provide details on the incident.
