Firefighters Work To Protect Ronald Reagan Presidential Library From Easy Fire (CBS LA)
The flames and mass amounts of smoke, driven by extreme gusts of wind are threatening the Library and the large amounts of priceless memorabilia inside and outside of the 153,000 square foot structure. With the fire encircling the property, employees and news media have been ordered to shelter in place.
Executive Director John Heubusch is one of the handful of employees on the property doing what he can to protect the contents of the Library. “We shut down all the ventilation systems. Hopefully, that’s holding and doing its job,” Heubusch said. [Read More]
‘Extreme haunted’ house is ‘torture chamber’ in disguise, says petition to close it (NBC News)
A haunted house that requires participants to get a doctor’s note and sign a 40-page waiver before they enter is facing some pushback online with more than 31,000 people signing a petition calling for it to be shut down.

Wittmann to seek commonwealth’s attorney post (Loudoun Times)
Loudoun County Chief Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Nicole Wittmann has announced her candidacy for the commonwealth’s attorney seat.
The Republican hopes to succeed Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney James Plowman (R), who was appointed to serve as a 20th Circuit Court judge in February. Leesburg lawyer Buta Biberaj is seeking the Democratic nomination for the constitutional office. [Read More]
Wasserman Schultz calls immigration chief a white supremacist (The Washington Times)
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, former chair of the Democratic National Committee, accused the chief of the government’s legal immigration agency Wednesday of pursuing a “white supremacist ideology,” sparking a brief row in a congressional committee.
The Florida Democrat also complained about a “specious” distinction between legal and illegal immigration, and accused acting U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Ken Cuccinelli of “intimidation tactics” to try to keep “brown” people out. [Read More]
