Anti-Brett Kavanaugh protesters have flooded Capitol Hill since news of allegations of sexual misconduct against him, walking hallways in protest, holding loud demonstrations and confronting senators in elevators.
One such protester approached Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana on his way through a Senate building walkway Monday. She asked, “Why are you supporting Kavanaugh?” to the brisk-walking senator. Yahoo News Tweet Misquotes Lindsey Graham to Invent Sexist Attack (Free Beacon)
Yahoo News on Wednesday paraphrased a quote by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) in a way that made it appear like he made a sexist remark about one of the women who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.
In an interview at the The Atlantic Festival, Graham defended President Donald Trump’s recent criticism of Christine Blasey Ford.
“Everything he said was factual. He’s frustrated his nominee has been treated so badly,” Graham said.
“Factual? It was a personal degrading attack on someone who is a private citizen,” responded interviewer Jeffrey Goldberg, editor in chief of The Atlantic. [Read More]
1-in-3 pass ‘US Citizenship test,’ just 19% for Americans 45 and younger (Washington Examiner)
Just a third of Americans can pass a multiple choice “U.S. Citizenship Test,” fumbling over such simple questions as the cause of the Cold War or naming just one thing Benjamin Franklin is famous for.
And of Americans 45 and younger, the passing rate is a tiny 19 percent, according to a survey done for the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.
Worse: The actual test only requires that 60 percent of the answers be correct. In the survey, just 36 percent passed. [Read More]
FBI report expected imminently, one copy to be placed in Senate Judiciary Committee safe (FOX News)
The FBI is expected to send a single copy of its supplemental report on sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to Capitol Hill, where it will be kept in a Senate Judiciary Committee safe, two senior Senate sources confirmed to Fox News Wednesday.
The sources added that the report will be sent to the White House before it goes to the committee and it may be carried to the offices of individual senators by request. All 100 senators and nine staffers will be authorized to read the document.
Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., the third-ranking Republican in the Senate, told Fox News’ “The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino” Wednesday that he expected to see the report “sometime today.”
“Obviously, that will enable the process to move forward and we hope that we’re going to have the votes to get [Kavanaugh] confirmed when it’s all said and done,” Thune said. [Read More]
CBS “This Morning” interviewed Chelsea Clinton about the allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, but failed to ask her about the multiple allegations against her father, former President Bill Clinton, on Wednesday.
Norah O’Donnell asked Chelsea Clinton what she thought about President Trump mocking Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee at a campaign event on Tuesday.
“I don’t think the president should be mocking anyone. I don’t think he should be mocking Dr. Ford. I don’t think he should be mocking a gold star family. I don’t think he should be mocking a disabled reporter,” Clinton said. [Read More]
