ROCKVILLE, MD — (WMAL) Maryland Task Force One – the 80-member search and rescue team from Montgomery County, returned home from a week in the Carolinas, where they assisted in rescue operations and logistics during Hurricane Florence.
The team, one of 28 coordinated through the Federal Emergency Management Agency to assist during large-scale natural and manmade disasters, spent several days in Columbia, South Carolina during the storm before being redirected to Charlotte, North Carolina to assist in flood efforts there.

Several Montgomery County personnel remain in the Carolinas offering with logistical help as recovery efforts continue.
