- Trump announces new US trade deal with Mexico.
- President Trump says the U.S. and Mexico have reached a new trade deal. The two sides have been working to renegotiate NAFTA, which Trump has called disastrous for the U.S. In an announcement at the White House today, Trump said the NAFTA name will be scrapped and replaced by “United State-Mexico Trade Agreement.” NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, was negotiated during the Clinton administration. Canada is also part of NAFTA but is not involved in the current negotiations with Mexico. Trump said negotiations with Canada will start soon.
