5am – A/B/C TRUMP vs MCCAIN:
- Media use John McCain’s death to denigrate Donald Trump. Trump, after a fierce backlash, again lowered the White House flag to half-staff yesterday with a statement that “despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain’s service to our country.”
- Trump finally speaks about John McCain. At a dinner for evangelical leaders, President Trump finally spoke about the late Sen. John McCain, saying he appreciates McCain’s service.
- President Trump declines to comment when asked multiple times in the Oval Office for his thoughts on the death of John McCain. “Mr. President, any thoughts on John McCain?” @jonkarl asks following Pres. Trump’s announcement on trade. “Any thoughts on the legacy of John McCain?” The president does not respond or take any other questions.
- John McCain issues subtle rebuke of Trump in farewell letter before his death. RICK DAVIS, a McCain family spokesman read the message: “We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe,” McCain wrote in the letter. “We weaken it when we hide behind WALLS, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been.”
5am – D/E LANNY DAVIS:
- Lanny Davis, former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s lawyer, has admitted being an anonymous source for a ‘bombshell’ CNN story on the infamous Trump Tower meeting after backpedaling on Trump-Russia collusion claims
- LANNY DAVIS FUMBLES: Lanny Davis, the high-powered attorney of President Trump’s longtime “fixer”-turned-foe Michael Cohen, has admitted he was an anonymous source for a bombshell CNN story on the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting — after The Washington Post outed him as a source for its own story … Davis told BuzzFeed News Monday night he regretted being the anonymous source as well as his subsequent denial. The CNN story, which cited multiple “sources,” claimed Cohen said President Trump knew in advance about the Trump Tower sit-down. “I made a mistake,” Davis told BuzzFeed.CNN, which has stood by its reporting, did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment. Davis spent recent days walking back his bombshell assertions that his client could tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Trump had prior knowledge of the meeting with a Russian lawyer discussing potentially damaging information on Hillary Clinton.
6am – A TWITTER REVERSES RULING AFTER BACKLASH, CONCEDES IT’S AGAINST THE RULES TO WISH DEATH UPON DANA LOESCH’S CHILDREN. (Daily Caller) – Twitter reversed course Monday and suspended a Twitter account that said National Rifle Association (NRA) spokeswoman Dana Loesch “has to have her children murdered.” “The only way these people learn is if it affects them directly,” Twitter user Milan Legius wrote in a reply to Loesch on Sunday. “So if Dana Loesch has to have her children murdered before she’ll understand, I guess that’s what needs to happen.” Twitter initially ruled on Sunday that after “carefully” reviewing the reported tweet, that it had “no violation of the Twitter Rules against abusive behavior.” Following news coverage from media outlets including The Daily Caller News Foundation, Twitter “re-reviewed” the report on Monday and changed its ruling. “We have re-reviewed the account you reported and have locked it because we found it to be in violation of the Twitter Rules,” Twitter wrote in an email to Dana’s husband Chris Loesch, who shared it with TheDCNF. “You may not make specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm, death, or disease of an individual or group of people,” Twitter’s rules state.
6am – B/C BRIDEZILLA: Bride cancels wedding, breaks up with fiancé after friends and family refuse to pay for $60G nuptials. (Fox News) — A woman’s long-winded tirade blaming her friends and family for canceling her dream $60,000 wedding has gone viral on social media. The bizarre story has received a massive response after being shared on Facebook and Reddit by a woman identified as the bride’s cousin. The Facebook post starts with, “It comes with great sadness that I am announcing the cancellation of the [censored] Wedding. I apologize for cancelling only 4 days beforehand.” The bride, identified as Susan, then reveals that she and her fiancé have broken up “due to some recent and irreparable problems” before going on to blame her friends and family for “ruin[ing] my marriage and life.” The woman explained the couple met at 14 and worked together on her family’s farm. They then went to community college and worked and saved to “become financially stable.” “We managed to save up nearly $15K for a wedding. Since our love was like a fairy tale, we wanted an extravagant blow out wedding, one where our son could be included,” the woman wrote. “We started touring venues and were torn between two. A local psychic told us to go with the more expensive option, and we thought why the hell not?”

(ABC News) — After months of negotiations, President Donald Trump on Monday announced the United States and Mexico have agreed on revisions to key parts of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) — a trade agreement between the United States, Canada and Mexico. “It’s a big day for trade. It’s a big day for our country,” Trump said. Trade negotiations with Canada are still ongoing. “We’ll see if Canada can be part of the deal,” he said. 6am – E/F Lingerie For Men Is A Thing Now Because Of Course It Is. A new brand called HommeMystere is making frilly things for the men in your life. (Daily Wire) — A new British company is advertising a fabulous product for the gender non-binary men in your life: lacy lingerie. According to the Mirror, a U.K. company called HommeMystere aims to take frilly panties and wispy, floral-printed bras out of the gender-binary by providing “lingerie and sleepwear exclusively for men.” The underthings bear a striking resemblance to sets women might purchase, and some even come with optional “accessories,” like garter belts. Most of the underwear is bikini-style, and the bras — which come in strapless and “multi-way” — are generally unlined (though some do feature light padding, in case men are looking for a “fuller” figure). HommeMystere also features a selection of lace nighties and babydolls for when things get really intense. There’s even what appears to be a saucy French maid costume.

7am – B/C Lanny Davis, former Trump attorney Michael Cohen’s lawyer, has admitted being an anonymous source for a ‘bombshell’ CNN story on the infamous Trump Tower meeting after backpedaling on Trump-Russia collusion claims
7am – D INTERVIEW – JOSH KRAUSHAAR – political editor for National Journal
@HotlineJosh – previewed Tuesday’s primaries in AZ, FL and OK.
- Voters in Arizona, Florida and Oklahoma will go to the polls in primary elections Tuesday to select candidates in closely-watched Senate and gubernatorial races
- In Arizona, Republicans will decide who will be the winner of one of the most bruising primaries this election season, as candidates fight to get the party’s nod to replace outgoing Sen. Jeff Flake. In the race, two-term Rep. Martha McSally has emerged as the frontrunner as she fends off challenges from the right in the forms of former state Sen. Kelli Ward and Sheriff Joe Arpaio. But whoever wins the primary will face a tough Democratic challenge as Democrats eye the state as one that can be flipped in November.
- In Florida, five Democratic candidates are vying for Florida GOP Gov. Rick Scott’s seat in Tuesday’s primary. However, the crowded Democratic race arguably has been overshadowed by the Republican primary where Rep. Ron DeSantis is wielding a Trump endorsement against Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam. Still, FOX News rates the race for the open seat a “toss up” in November, as Democrats eye a potential pickup.
- In Oklahoma, the race for the GOP nomination in the race for governor could hinge on the state’s geography and the candidates’ allegiance to President Trump. Longtime Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett and Gateway Mortgage Company founder Kevin Stitt have touted their conservative credentials as they seek to replace term-limited GOP Gov. Mary Fallin. Cornett has come under fire from Stitt, who attacked the former mayor in one ad as not being supportive enough of Trump or his immigration policies.
7am – E CATHOLIC CHURCH SCANDAL:
- Archbishop wants Pope Francis to resign. In a statement seen by CNN, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, a former Vatican ambassador to the United States, said he told the Pope about allegations of sexual abuse against then-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick five years ago, but the Pontiff did nothing about it. The explosive letter called on Pope Francis to resign. “I will not say a word about this,” Pope Francis told reporters. “I believe the document speaks for itself.” The 88-year-old McCarrick resigned from his role as cardinal earlier this summer amid a wave of sex abuse allegations, including many involving seminarians. The letter was released in the middle of Pope Francis’ trip to Ireland, where the pontiff repeatedly asked for “forgiveness” in apologizing for clerical sex abuse scandals. Archbishop Vigano – now 77 – makes a number of ideological claims and is critical of homosexuals within Church ranks. He does not offer any proof for his statements.
- Pope Francis declines to comment on allegations of sexual abuse cover up in DC On the papal plane after his second day in Ireland, Pope Francis declined to refute or confirm the allegations mentioned in the letter, urging the journalists aboard the plane only to consider the source and make their own judgment. “I will not say a single word about this,” Pope Francis said, adding that it “speaks for itself.”
8am – A INTERVIEW – PETER NAVARRO – currently serves as the Assistant to the President, Director of Trade and Industrial Policy, and the Director of the White House National Trade Council
- Trump announces new US trade deal with Mexico.
- President Trump says the U.S. and Mexico have reached a new trade deal. The two sides have been working to renegotiate NAFTA, which Trump has called disastrous for the U.S. In an announcement at the White House today, Trump said the NAFTA name will be scrapped and replaced by “United State-Mexico Trade Agreement.” NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, was negotiated during the Clinton administration. Canada is also part of NAFTA but is not involved in the current negotiations with Mexico. Trump said negotiations with Canada will start soon.
8am – B/C TIGER / TRUMP:
- Tiger Woods says ‘you have to respect the office’ of president after questions about his relationship with Trump. (Fox News) — Tiger Woods shot down questions on Sunday about his relationship with President Trump, urging people to respect the office of the president. “He’s the President of the United States. You have to respect the office. No matter who is in the office, you may like, dislike personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office,” Woods said during a news conference just after the final round of the US PGA Northern Trust tournament. The comment was in response to a provocative reporter’s question that tried to get Woods to denounce Trump’s policies and feuds with NBA and NFL players, USA Today reported. Woods was asked whether he had anything to say to people who “find it interesting” that he maintains a rather personal relationship with the president who tightening immigration controls in the country and feuding with both NBA and NFL players. “At times, especially 2018, I think a lot of people, especially immigrants are threatened by him and his policy — what do you say to people who might find it interesting that you have a friendly relationship with him?” a reporter asked Woods.
