WASHINGTON (WMAL)– An Amtrak train came off the tracks at Union Station Thursday afternoon. That’s according to DC Fire and EMS. At least 190 people were on board at the time.
.@Amtrak train derailed just outside of Union Station. Derailed car is upright. There are no reported injuries. #DCsBravest helping passengers off – and walking them back to Union Station.

The estimated 190 passengers aboard the @AmtrakNEC train that reportedly derailed just north of Union Station are now returning to Union Station with the assistance of #DCBravest. There remains no reported injuries to any passengers or @amtrak employees.

Amtrak has also tweeted out a statement:
Train 20 derailed the lead engine coming into Washington Union Station at a low-speed. The engine is being removed from the consist, and the passengers will continue on the train into Union Station. There are no reported injuries to the crew or passengers.
