After complaining about “fake news,” Acosta — a favorite target of Trump — asked if he could have a turn. “Since you attacked CNN can I ask you a question?” Acosta asked. Trump ignored Acosta and picked Fox News. “Can I ask you a question?” Acosta repeated.

6am – B Scarlett Johansson exits trans film ‘Rub and Tug’ amid backlash (Page Six) – Scarlett Johansson has exited the drama film “Rub and Tug” a little more than a week after her casting sparked backlash amid trans groups and activists, a source with knowledge of the situation confirms to Variety. “In light of recent ethical questions raised surrounding my casting as Dante Tex Gill, I have decided to respectfully withdraw my participation in the project,” Johansson told Out magazine, which first reported the news, in a statement.
6am – C Meghan Markle’s dad believes his daughter is ‘terrified’ adjusting to new life, calls royal family ‘outdated’ (Fox News) – Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle claimed his daughter is “terrified” adjusting her life as the Duchess of Sussex and accused the “outdated” royal family of placing too much pressure on the former actress. In an interview with The Sun on Sunday, Markle said he can see the fear in Meghan’s eyes ever since the former “Suits” actress was placed in the spotlight and began her duties as part of the royal family.
6am – D Celebrations went global for France’s World Cup victory on Sunday (Fox News) – France clinched its second FIFA World Cup title after beating Croatia 4-2 in the finals on Sunday, as Fox News reported — in the highest-scoring final since 1966. The win marked the second time in 20 years that France has. “We’re happy. It took 20 years … It’s the pride of the nation. It unites everyone. It federates,” Frederique Pourquet said as she and her friend left the Champs-Elysees, the world-famous avenue in Paris. Fans in the U.S. even enjoyed the win, as bars overflowed with crowds, captured, of course, virally on social media, and public big-screen TVs showed the triumph to overjoyed fans. Even the losers lost in good faith. From New York City, Eric Explores tweeted: “Tough break today. But that doesn’t stop Croatian’s from partying. My kind of people.”
6am – E Metro workers call for strike amid 2-year labor dispute ahead of All-Star Game (Washington Times) – Members of the Washington Metro’s largest union have voted overwhelmingly to authorize their leader to call for a strike amid an extended labor dispute. Amalgamated Transit Union Local 689 President Jackie L. Jeter tells news outlets 94 percent of voters approved the potential strike Sunday, though union leaders have not said whether they’ll proceed or when it might take place.

The University of Louisville announced that the school’s football stadium will no longer carry the Papa John’s name. The stadium is to be redubbed “Cardinal Stadium” effective immediately, university president Neeli Bendapudi said Friday
8am – C In D.C., no more license suspensions for drivers with unpaid tickets (Washington Post) – Drivers who have unpaid traffic tickets or miss court hearings to address them will no longer see their licenses suspended under legislation approved by the D.C. Council this week. In ending license suspensions due to unpaid tickets, the District joins a handful of jurisdictions that have rejected a practice deemed discriminatory against the poor. The decades-old policy has affected thousands of D.C. drivers each year.
