WASHINGTON (WMAL/AP) – As results from Tuesday’s primary election results trickle in, the Associated Press reports the winners and numbers in the gubernatorial, senate and house races. Maryland Board of Elections reports the latest results on local races.
Governor Race
In an uncontested race, Gov. Larry Hogan secured his nomination and will be facing Democratic nominee Ben Jealous, who led runner-up Rushern Baker by almost 10 percent. Hogan tweeted his congratulations to Jealous and expressed his anticipation in debating the former NAACP leader as they head to the general election.

U.S. Senate Race
Leading the Democratic pack in the U.S. Senate race is Sen. Ben Cardin, who secured his nomination with a reported 80 percent of the votes. The two-term incumbent led runner-up Chelsea Manning by a large margin of about 74 percent.
Cardin will face Republican Senate nominee Tony Campbell.
House Races
Focusing on the 6th Congressional District, former Deputy Under Secretary of the Army under President Reagan Amie Hoeber won the nomination in the Republican race. Hoeber will be facing Democratic nominee and Total Wine & More owner David Trone.
Other Races To Watch
The Montogomery County executive race on the Democratic side is a too-close to call race between candidates David Blair and Marc Elrich, with Blair polling at 28.9 percent and Elrich polling at 29.2 percent according to the latest results reported by the Maryland Board of Elections’ website.
Robin Flicker is the Republican nominee for the county executive race.
