POINT OF ROCKS, MD — The Potomac is not done draining yet.
Minor to moderate flooding continued along the river Tuesday following the weekend rains that brought more than ten inches of rain to the region.
As of 5:00 a.m., flooding was reported at Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Point of Rocks, Maryland, Little Falls, DC and most other points along the river. The water levels ranged from two to nine feet above flood stage in most areas.
Tidal flooding continues in the DC area as well, with the river above flood stage at Georgetown through Tuesday evening, and spotty flooding possible along the Southwest Waterfront as well.
The flooding also closed White’s Ferry for a second straight day.
