Maryland Community Struck By Flooding Braces For More Rain

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – A Maryland community struck by severe flooding twice in less than two years is bracing for more heavy rain.

Officials in Ellicott City say they are preparing to deal with more flooding as storms approach.

“There’s just a chance of these…these downpours like we’ve seen the past several days pretty much through the whole area,” Cody Ledbetter, meteorologist for the National Weather Service said. “Where those set up, we’re not gonna know until it comes down to the time, so we want everybody to be aware that the threat is there.”

Officials urged residents to stay alert and said it’s hard to predict what areas could get localized heavy rainfall during storms forecast for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
