WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe held a ceremonial ribbon cutting for a new Veteran Services office at the Pentagon.
“This new office will serve the thousands of veterans and transitioning servicemen and women and their families who work in the headquarters of the US Department of Defense,” according to a statement released by the Governor’s office.
The new Virginia Department of Veteran Services office will be the 30th in the state.
“Making Virginia the most-veteran-friendly state in the nation has been one of the most important accomplishments of this administration,” said McAuliffe.
He also announced the achievement of the goal to have 30,000 veterans hired through the Virginia Values Veterans program.
McAuliffe is set to leave office on Saturday, January 13.
