WASHINGTON (WMAL) — Starting today, waiting at a Metro station won’t put a dent in your data.
Metro has expanded their Wi-Fi service to 24 additional stations, bringing the total up to 30. New stations include Rosslyn, Wheaton, Navy Yard-Ball Park and Friendship Heights.
The new Wi-Fi service will come in handy when you’re posting your New Year’s Eve selfies on your way home.
Metro also announced today that they will be open late on New Year’s Eve, running trains until 2 a.m. They have not scheduled any maintenance after 6 p.m. of New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.
The extended hours are “to provide customers a safe transportation alternative” for the holiday.
