WASHINGTON (WMAL)– The DC metro area is due to get its first measurable snowfall this weekend. A Winter Weather advisory goes into effect late Friday evening and will last through mid-Saturday afternoon.
Andrew Snyder, a forecaster with the National Weather Service says the storm will start as a rain/snow mix, and then move to all snow overnight and into the morning on Saturday.
“There could be a period of heavier snow as we move through the morning hours on Saturday, and then it will wind down after lunchtime”, Snyder says.
In all, Synder says the greater DC area should see between 2-4 inches, while areas south and east will see more, and areas north and west will see less.
