PGCPS board chair threatens action against two members for grade fixing whistleblower info

The Prince George’s County Public School Board Chair has threatened action against two elected members of the board if they don’t provide the names of the whistleblowers in the school system’s graduation scandal by noon Monday.
The message was sent in a letter by Board Chair Segun Eubanks to District 1 Board Member David Murray and District 8 Board Member Edward Burroughs III this past Friday.

The memo comes in the wake of a report investigating grade changing in Prince George’s County Public Schools, in which auditors found that about one-third of high school graduates of Prince George’s County Public Schools over the past two years had some sort of a late grade change made. The study focused on a sample size of 1,212 students, according to the report, pulled from nearly 5,500 who had been flagged for potential grade changes. [Read More]
