Woman’s Body Found In Sand In Ocean City, MD

OCEAN CITY, MD — (WMAL) The body of a 30-year-old Texas woman was found buried in the sand in Ocean City on Monday morning.

Ocean City beach cleaning crews spotted a forearm sticking out of the sand on the beach near 2nd Street at around 6:30 am and called police, who marked off the area and launched a daylong investigation.

Beqach sweepers and other equipment was brought in to keep the area blocked from public view as investigators worked waist deep in the sand to collect information.

The identity of the body was later confirmed to be 30-year-old Ashley O’Connor of Plano, Texas. She had been visiting the resort with her family, but became separated from her parents at around 2 am Monday morning.

Ocean City officials say the woman’s death appears to be accidental, but nothing has been ruled out.
