WASHINGTON –(WMAL) Members of Congress representing the Washington area say they are deeply disturbed by the circumstances that led the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to provide recommendations to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to take immediate action to fix certain components of the Metro system.
The NTSB asked Metro Monday to install missing parts, and Metro complied.
These missing parts would protect moisture and other debris from entering the third rail.
Members of Congress sent a letter to WMATA on Tuesday, urging them to fix the issue.
