ROCKVILLE — (WMAL) The safety audit of Montgomery County’s 204 schools will be completed this month, Superintendent of Schools Jack Smith told the Board of Education Tuesday.
The audits, which look at school facilities, staff and operations, are being conducted in response to the now-discredited alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl during school hours at Rockville High School.
On Friday the rape charges against two male students were dropped when the victim’s account could not be corroborated by evidence.
“Safety and security is the first thing, [the] first priority,” Smith said.
