FORESTVILLE – (WMAL) Prince George’s Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman found stabbed and unconscious in the front yard of a home in Forestville on Easter Sunday morning. She was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.

“We really don’t have any information to go on,” Deputy Police Chief Sammy Patel said. “The first step to solving this case will be identifying her.”

The case began when police say they got a call from homeowners on the 3300 block of Springdale Avenue Sunday morning, reporting a woman who had just knocked on their door was now unconscious in their yard.

“We believe that our decedent came to this house, knocked on their door, we’re assuming, to get some sort of help,” Captain Anthony Schartner said. “By the time the homeowner was able to get to the front door, our decedent had become unconscious and was out front of their house.”

Schartner said the homeowners had no verbal contact with the woman, as she was already unconscious when they were able to open the door. He said she died of a single stab wound to the midsection.

She is described as a 20-23-year-old African-American female, 5′-11″ and weighing about 120 pounds, with no visible scars, tattoos, or birthmarks. Prince George’s Police would like anyone with pertinent information to call them at 1-866-411-8477 (TIPS). They’re offering a reward of up to $25,000.
