Listen as Larry spoke with Investigative Journalist Sharyl Attkisson about her latest article, Obama-era Surveillance Timeline.
During the interview, Attkisson revealed that the FBI is refusing to hand over her FBI file:
O’Connor: When did you find out about, very specific, infringements on your rights?
Attkisson: Well, a while before any of this was public so it sounded crazy to me, I had a couple of intel related sources approach me and tell me I was likely being surveilled. And over and over different officials said that this administration was doing things that were [inaudible], the likes which had never been seen. So I was able to get my computer forensically examined by a government connected source that knows what to look for and they found government owned software proprietary to a government agency in my computer – CBS later confirmed it. There were additional exams. I now have a lawsuit pending against the federal government for this intrusion. And by the way, I’ve been trying to get my [inaudible] but the FBI is withholding it in full with no explanation. So it makes you wonder, what on earth is in my FBI file.
O’Connor: Wait, your phone just jumped out there as you said it. You’re trying to get a hold of your FBI file? Is that what you said?
Attkisson: Yes, yes. I’ve been trying for a couple of years and the Department of Justice is withholding it, in full, with no explanation – although they are required to provide an explanation by law, they haven’t. And it makes me wonder, what is in my FBI file.
