New information has been released about the search for a missing cliff diver in Montgomery County.

“We believe he is presumed obviously missing, still missing and presumed drowned at this juncture,” said Pete Piringer with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue.

Search crews are still looking for the 21-year old from Reston. The US Park Police and others are still on the scene but are not able to use their helicopter due to the weather.

Montgomery County boats are out of the water for the day.

“We put in a good four hours, pretty extensive search up at the shorelines, in and around the area where we think he was last seen and where the current might take somebody, so we think we’ve exhausted efforts today,” explained Piringer

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue crews have suspended their search until Friday morning.
