Dozens Arrested, More Than 50 Guns Seized in Sting

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) – Federal officials say dozens of people have been arrested in a Norfolk guns and drugs sting.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that 12 people are in custody on firearms and drug charges and more than a dozen more were arrested on state charges. Officials say they identified more than 30 people throughout Hampton Roads who were illegally selling firearms and drugs in the months-long investigation led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.

Officials say they recovered more than 50 firearms, heroin and cocaine. They say 10 of the 12 federal defendants are previously convicted felons and seven are allegedly affiliated with the United Blood Nation gang.
