McCarthy: I think the main reason the left doesn’t like him is two-fold. One, he refuses to bow to the Beltway theory that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism – which has basically been the conventional wisdom down there certainly for the last 8 years and one could argue for the past generation or so. And I think the second thing with Seb is that he is very, very effective. As you know from having had him on your program, he’s bright, he’s articulate, he’s compelling, he’s very linear, he answers the questions and doesn’t duck them. And that’s the kind of of guy they’d like to knock out.
