SILVER SPRING — (WMAL) The Inner Loop of the Capital Beltway was closed Thursday morning between Connecticut and Georgia Avenues following a crash involving a box truck carrying flowers and a tractor trailer. The crash occured at about 5:30am, just as the morning rush hour was getting underway.
The box truck flipped over and spilled fuel from its saddle tanks, while the tractor trailer jacknifed across all four lanes of traffic. Police were allowing cars to only intermittently use the right shoulder to get by.
