WASHINGTON (WMAL) — The group that held the “Draw Muhammad” contest in Texas, which led to a shooting, wants to feature the winning drawing in an advertisement on D.C. public transit.

Pamela Geller, the president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), wrote in Breitbart that she submitted the cartoon to WMATA for approval. The ads would run on metro buses and trains and in the Foggy Bottom, Capitol South, Bethesda, L’Enfant Plaza and Shady Grove Metro stations.

AFDI says displaying the ads will show America is not be intimidated by terror groups like ISIS that want to stifle free speech through violence.

Metro said it is reviewing the ads. If approved, the ads could anger Muslims who consider depictions of the Prophet Mohammed highly offensive.
