LARGO — (WMAL) Two Prince George’s County Liquor Board officials and two business owners were charged with a bribery conspiracy Thursday.
Board officials David Dae Sok Son, 40 of Bowie and Anuj Sud, 39 of Hyattsville and business owners Young Jung Paig, 62 of Beltsville, and Shin Ja Lee, 55 of Landover, were accused of allegedly paying cash bribes to public officials in return for favorable actions regarding their liquor licenses.
The four suspects were accused of allegedly bribing Prince George’s County officials, and Son, Paig and Lee were also accused of trying to influence officials with the State of Maryland.
If convicted, all four could face a sentence of five years in prison for the conspiracy, and ten years for bribery.
Earlier today the FBI raided the offices of the Liquor Board in Largo, Prince George’s County.
Prince George’s County spokesman Scott Peterson told WMAL that members of the Liquor Board are appointed by the state of Maryland, and not by the county.
