ROCKVILLE — (WMAL) It appears Montgomery County residents favor term limits for their lawmakers.
Results from early voting in Montgomery show that 64 percent of voters favored Question B, which would limit members of the County Council and County Executive to three consecutive terms.
However, it was a split decision of sorts. Early voters also overwhelmingly voted “yes” to Question C, which counts a “full term” as service of two years or beyond, by an 80 to 20 percent margin. Councilmember Nancy Navarro, whose first term was an abbreviated one, would be able to run for a third complete term in 2018 if Question C passes.
The official results of both ballot questions will be finalized when the entire vote is tabulated later this evening.
