5am – A/B/C   INTERVIEW — JAMES O’KEEFE – Project Veritas

  • New BOMBSHELL video just released by James O’Keefe on MASS VOTER FRAUD
  • Hidden Camera Video Shows Democrats Sent Agitators To Trump Rallies
  • Two Democratic operatives lose jobs after James O’Keefe sting. Scott Foval and Robert Creamer, two little-known but influential Democratic political operatives, have left their jobs after video investigations by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas Action found them entertaining dark notions about how to win elections. Foval was laid off on Monday by Americans United for Change, where he had been national field director; Creamer announced Tuesday night that he was “stepping back” from the work he was doing for the unified Democratic campaign for Hillary Clinton. The moves came after 36 hours of coverage, led by conservative and social media, for O’Keefe’s video series “Rigging the Election.” In them, Foval is filmed telling hidden-camera toting journalists about how they’ve disrupted Republican events; Foval also goes on at length about how an organization might cover up in-person voter fraud. In another Tuesday night statement, the Creamer-founded Democracy Partners, which used Foval as a contractor, denounced both Project Veritas and the statements caught on camera.

5am – D         What Do You Refrigerate?

  • Refrigeration really does ruin tomatoes, according to science.  (Washington Post) – This week in science news you can use, an international group of horticulturalists has published an extensive study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences looking at the effects of refrigeration on flavor compounds in tomatoes. The study opens with what one might call “a truth universally acknowledged”: Commercial tomatoes are often flavorless. The researchers, led by horticulturalist Bo Zhang of the University of Florida, argue that the problem stems not from the tomatoes themselves, but from the post-harvest practice of chilling fruit. Keeping tomatoes at low temperatures slows down the ripening process and prevents them from rotting, but it also interferes with chemical compounds that give tomatoes their taste. Zhang and his colleagues wanted to investigate the genetic basis for this phenomenon, in hopes that their findings might yield a tastier tomato. Flavor in a fruit is determined by three things: sugars, acids and “volatiles,” the chemical compounds that are largely responsible for its aroma. Sugars and acids aren’t affected much by refrigeration, but most volatiles are synthesized during ripening, which is part of the reason ripe fruit has such a strong smell.
  • 25 things you don’t actually need to keep in the fridge. Make some room in your fridge by storing these room-temperature-happy items in the pantry.  There is probably a bunch of things in your fridge that doesn’t need to be there. Removing these items from your fridge can free up space and improve the taste and quality of items that should be stored at room temperature. Take a look at this list and then go rummage through your fridge:
  • Hot sauce stays fresh up to 3 years without refrigeration, even after opening it.
  • Potatoes should be stored in paper bags in cool, dry pantries. Putting them in the fridge can make them taste funny and rot faster.
  • Onions do best in dry, ventilated areas. Keep them away from potatoes, though. These tubers can make onions rot faster. Like onions, garlic is just fine in a dry, ventilated area of the pantry.
  • Basil absorbs fridge smells, so it is best to keep your fresh basil in a cup or vase of water on the counter much like fresh cut flowers. You can also do this with any other fresh herbs.
  • Your avocado won’t ripen? That’s because it’s in the fridge. Putting an unripe avocado on the counter will make it ripen much faster. To really speed up the process, put it in a bag with a banana or apple.
  • Putting berries in the fridge can make them rot much faster due to moisture. They’ll be fine in a bowl or basket on the counter.
  • Bread is best when kept at room temperature in a sealed plastic bag. Storing bread in the fridge speeds up the dehydration process and makes it go stale faster.
  • Storing tomatoes in the fridge can alter their flavor and make them rot faster. Keeping them on the counter in a bowl is your best bet.
  • Keep coffee out of the fridge and in a dry, air-tight container in the cupboard.
  • Most squash, especially those with thicker skin, do well for up to a couple months in the pantry.
  • Honey is the only food that doesn’t spoil and it doesn’t need to be refrigerated.
  • Most cakes don’t need refrigeration. If it’s unfrosted or has a buttercream or ganache frosting, it’s fine to store it in an airtight container for around three days.
  • Uncut melons do best on the counter or in a dry pantry.
  • Bananas that are unripe should be hung on a banana hook on the counter to ripen. Otherwise, ripe bananas can be stored in the fridge or freezer to prevent further ripening.
  • Ketchup and mustard can be kept in the cabinet for around a month without refrigeration because they contain acids that inhibit bacteria growth.
  • Peanut butter doesn’t need to be refrigerated and can be kept in the cabinet for months, unless it’s organic.
  • Cooking oils can be kept in the pantry, with the exception of nut oils.
  • Apples, peaches, nectarines and pears can be kept in a basket in your pantry and will last around a week.
  • Rice only needs to be kept in the fridge if it’s cooked. Dry rice can be stored in canisters or plastic bags in your pantry for years. If it’s stored in an air-tight container, white rice can last 8 to 10 years. Brown rice can last 1 to 2 years.

5am – E         WikiLeaks & Email News:

  • Wikileaks: Huma Abedin Asks to Shorten Benghazi Statement Because Hillary Won’t Have Podium to Lean on. (Breitbart) — Huma Abedin, top aide to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, asked a speechwriter to shorten a potential statement to reporters because Clinton would not deliver it at a podium, according to the latest Wikileaks release of messages from John Podesta’s email accounts. Dan Schwerin, Direct of Speechwriting for Clinton’s campaign, sent a draft of a “post-game statement [Hillary] could make to press” after she testified before the House Benghazi Committee in October 2015. The statement, at 253 words, would take the average speaker less than two minutes to deliver. “I would make it shorter only because it’s a bank of Mics and no podium,” Abedin replied. Based on contemporaneous news reports, Clinton’s team appears to have scrapped a “post-game” statement altogether — since Clinton ultimately sat and talked for 11 hours over the course of the hearing. During that time, Clinton suffered a coughing fit for several minutes while answering questions from Rep. Elijah Cummings.
  • WikiLeaks: Hillary Wants Obamacare to ‘Unravel.’ Leaked email suggests Clinton rooting for Affordable Care Act to collapse. (LifeZette) – An email leaked by WikiLeaks Tuesday appears to suggest that Hillary Clinton wants the Affordable Care Act to fail — presumably as a pretense for implementing single-payer, government-controlled health care. In a chain between Clinton and her senior policy adviser Ann O’Leary titled “Memo on Cadillac Tax for HRC,” Clinton said she’s open to changing her position on the Cadillac Tax — but that the Republican plan to repeal it must pass.”Given the politics now w bipartisan support including Schumer, I’ll support repeal w ‘sense of the Senate’ that revenues would have to be found,” Clinton wrote. “I’d be open to a range of options to do that. But we have to be careful that the R version passes which begins the unraveling of the ACA,” she continued.
  • WIKILEAKS: Podesta Mocks Sanders As A ‘Doofus’ (Daily Caller) – Hillary Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta called Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders a “doofus” in an email of his that wound up on WikiLeaks as a result of a hack of his online communications. According to an email with the subject header “Congratulations on Paris” started by Clinton 2008 campaign adviser and Center for American Progress President Neera Tanden on December 13, 2015, Podesta took a shot at Sanders. “I know it wouldn’t have happened w o the china deal. My children and their future children thank you,” Tanden wrote to Podesta in reference to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris where a climate change agreement among 195 nations had just taken place a day earlier. Podesta replied, “Thanks Neera. Can you believe that doofus Bernie attacked it? Ben happy?”
  • Hillary Clinton accused of stealing furniture from the State Department. (NY Post) — Hillary Clinton swiped State Department furniture to decorate her Washington home, a former member of her security detail has alleged to the FBI. “Early in Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state, she and her staff were observed removing lamps and furniture from the State Department which were transported to her residence in Washington, DC,” an agent on the detail told the FBI. The agent “does not know whether these items were ever returned to the government,” according to FBI notes.
  • FBI Docs: Hillary Was So Unpleasant Security Agents Didn’t Want To Protect Her. (Daily Caller) – Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton waves to the crowd after being introduced by her daughter Chelsea Clinton (R) on the fourth day of the Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center, July 28, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. [Alex Wong/Getty Images]   Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton waves to the crowd after being introduced by her daughter Chelsea Clinton (R) on the fourth day of the Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center, July 28, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Department of State security officers found then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton so unpleasant they refused to work on her security detail, a former agent claims in newly-released FBI documents.
  • The Energizer: Clinton Campaign Closely Monitored Reports About Bill Clinton’s Alleged Mistress. (Breitbart) – Hillary Clinton’s campaign closely monitored reports of Bill Clinton’s alleged mistresses, including rumors surrounding one woman nicknamed “The Energizer” who routinely visited his home. Hillary Clinton’s aide Cheryl Mills sent an email inquiring about a Daily Mail report speculating about the identity of Energizer. “Who is the ‘Energiser’ (sic) who has been Clinton’s secret lover?” she asked, sending a link to the story. “Well they sure managed to get every name into one story,” replied Podesta wryly, after reading the story in the email chain that included Tina Flournoy, Bill Clinton’s chief of staff. “I guess you got to give them credit for that.” Flournoy then suggested that the trio get together for a phone call to discuss the issue offline. The emailed discussion occurred in July 2014, as rumors swirled around Clinton’s relationship with his wife.

6am – A/B/C Rock Hall of Fame: Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Yes Lead Nominees. Journey, Janet Jackson, Depeche Mode, ELO, Chic, Joan Baez, the Zombies and the Cars among 19 possible inductees, with voting again open to fans. The nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Class of 2017 are in, and the list includes Pearl Jam, Tupac Shakur, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, Jane’s Addiction, Janet Jackson, Journey, the Cars, the Zombies and Yes.  The rest of this year’s hopefuls are Bad Brains, Chaka Khan, Chic, J. Geils Band, Joan Baez, Joe Tex, Kraftwerk, MC5 and Steppenwolf.  The top vote-getters will be announced in December and inducted next April at a ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. HBO will broadcast the ceremony later in the year. For the fifth consecutive year, the public will have the opportunity to vote alongside the more than 800 artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. From now until December 6th, fans can vote on RollingStone.com for the nominees they’d like to see inducted. The top five acts will comprise a “fan’s ballot” that will count as one of the ballots that determine the class of 2016. To be eligible for this year’s ballot, each nominee’s first single or album had to be released in 1991 or earlier.

6am – D         Rigged Election News:

  • Obama Tells Trump: Stop ‘Whining’ and Trying to Discredit the Election. (NY Times) – WASHINGTON — President Obama ridiculed Donald J. Trump on Tuesday for saying that the presidential election was rigged against him, telling Mr. Trump, the Republican nominee, to “stop whining and go try to make his case” to win more votes than Hillary Clinton. At a news conference in the White House Rose Garden, Mr. Obama said, “I have never seen in my lifetime, or in modern political history, any presidential candidate trying to discredit the elections and the election process before votes have even taken place.” By turns mocking and grave, Mr. Obama said the claims demonstrated that Mr. Trump lacked the leadership or toughness to be president. But he warned that the charges, which Mr. Trump repeated to cheers at a rally in Colorado later in the day, would undermine the nation’s purest expression of democracy, a popular vote respected by the vanquished as well as the victors. His sharp words reflected rising concerns among Democratic and Republican leaders that Mr. Trump’s drumbeat of accusations was resonating with his supporters. Many worry that if Mrs. Clinton wins and Mr. Trump refuses to accept the result, his stand will undermine her authority going into office and sow doubts about the legitimacy of the process.
  • Civil rights group sues Virginia elections officials over voter registration outages. (Richmond Times-Dispatch) – A civil rights group filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday night against Virginia election officials over outages in the state’s online voter registration system that prevented some Virginians from signing up to vote in the presidential election. The suit, filed in federal court in Alexandria by the Washington-based Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, argues that would-be voters who could not access the system Monday were deprived of their constitutional right to vote because Virginia officials failed to provide a working system. The suit asks for a court injunction ordering the Virginia Department of Elections and the State Board of Elections to extend the registration deadline by at least three full days. “This lawsuit seeks to prevent the disenfranchisement of eligible prospective voters in Virginia, whose right to vote has been impeded due to technological problems with and the systemic breakdown of Virginia’s online voter registration website, and the refusal of Defendants to remedy the situation,” the complaint states.
  • Guns at polling places worry Virginia election officials. The Prince William County electoral board, wary of the heated atmosphere of the coming Election Day, considered seeking a one-day ban on weapons at polling places located on private property but was rebuked by a gun-friendly state legislator. Late last week, Del. Robert G. Marshall (R-Prince William) sent a letter to the board pointing out that it has no power to ban guns from polling places except for schools and courthouses, where weapons are prohibited by state law.

7am – E         DC Council settles on new name for District in statehood push. WASHINGTON — If the D.C. Council has its way, the District will be known as the “State of Washington, D.C.” That’s the name offered up by Ward 2 council member Jack Evans in a measure unanimously approved Tuesday by the D.C. Council. Evans’ amendment strikes all mentions of the name “New Columbia” from a draft constitution published this summer by a special five-member D.C. Statehood Commission led by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.  Ward 6 council member Charles Allen then offered a follow-up amendment to state that the “D.C.” in the new name would stand not for District of Columbia, as it has for the past 225 years, but for “Douglass Commonwealth” — a nod to the influence of abolitionist Frederick Douglass in the formation of the city. The proposed name change comes just weeks before D.C. residents will vote whether to approve the constitution drawn up by the commission — a crucial step in District officials’ plan for statehood status for the capital city.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Emma Stone and Jane Curtin are late additions to the lineup of performers who’ll celebrate Bill Murray when he receives the nation’s top prize for humor. The Kennedy Center announced Tuesday that Stone and Curtin will take the stage in honor of Murray on Sunday night. Murray is this year’s recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. Curtin performed alongside Murray on “Saturday Night Live.” Stone co-starred with him in the little-seen movie “Aloha.” Also new to the lineup are musician Rhiannon Giddens and Ivan Reitman, who directed Murray in “Ghostbusters.” Murray’s co-star in that movie, Dan Aykroyd, has dropped out of the event.
