(wmal.com) — You may already know there are four blocks worth of restaurants, breweries, drinks and entertainment coming to Pennsylvania Avenue on October 8th and 9th.

But do know the best way to get free admission to the 2016 Taste of DC? Become a volunteer! You can come on your own or get a group of friends to volunteer together.

The 2016 Taste of DC is looking for volunteers across the entire event, from admissions to merchandising to the beer garden. Signing up is very easy.

First, check out THIS SITE and look for the day and time that works best for you.

If you volunteer on Saturday, you can come back on Sunday for free!

And even better, Taste of DC volunteers this year who take a shift on Sunday will also get a shot at one of 100 “Bottomless Tickets” to the Taste on Wheels, taking place Sunday, October 30th at Yards Park!

So, which volunteer position is best for you?

People Person? Join the Entrance Team. You’ll spend the day greeting people as they show up, scanning tickets and answering questions attendees have about the event.

Need to get your steps in? Help event sponsors and media find their way in and to the right spot. Look for “Staff/Sponsor/Media Entrance” positions.

Working the Admissions Gate is very popular with shifts filling up fast, but there are still a few left to fill. Taste of DC says these are great jobs for anyone age 15 and up who doesn’t mind standing.

If you have retail experience or just really like selling, the merchandise tent is looking for you!

Wine & Beer lovers are really in luck. Volunteer for the Wine Area or Beer Garden and you’ll be learning all about the wine & beer selections. It’s a chance to help educate people on what’s offered, help serve samples and collect tickets. Volunteers dealing with wine and beer do need to be at least 21 years old.

Lastly, volunteers of all ages are welcome in the Beverage Pod, where there are a lot of different jobs, including pouring wine & beer (if you’re 21 or older) taking orders, collecting tickets and restocking.

taste5No matter what kind of mood you’re in, volunteering at Taste of DC is one of the best ways to get into DC’s largest food, beer and wine festival!

Call the squad, get in formation, gather your gang and get your names on the list to be a part of one of the best weekends in the District!

WMAL and Cumulus are proud Media Sponsors of the 2016 Taste of DC.
