WASHINGTON — (WMAL) A former Prince George’s County Public Schools aide is now facing 270 counts of child sex abuse and pornography in addition to federal charges.
22-year old Deonte Carroway was working with students at Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School in Glenarden and authorities say he would videotape the children performing adult acts on each other. Now, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
“The first degree sex offense cases carry life sentences and there are at least 40 of those,” says Prince George’s State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks.
Alsobrooks says she knows of 23 kids between the ages of 9 and 13-years-old who were abused and filmed by Carraway. They are hoping to use the video footage to keep the minors from testifying in court.
Carroway is currently in jail on a no bond status.
