5am – A         Hillary News:

  • President Barack Obama endorses Hillary Clinton in video.  (CNN)President Barack Obama endorsed presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in a web video Thursday. “I don’t think there’s ever been someone so qualified to hold this office,” Obama said in the video.  “I want those of you who have been with me since the beginning of this incredible journey to be the first to know that I’m with her,” Obama continued. “I am fired up. And I can’t wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary.” Obama will campaign with Clinton next week in Green Bay, Wisconsin. “It’s probably the first of many campaign events between now and November,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said, adding that no more campaign events are scheduled yet. Earnest said Obama recorded his video Tuesday.
  • Obama Endorses Hillary, Immediately Meets With Attorney General Loretta Lynch. (Town Hall) – Earlier today President Obama officially endorsed Democrat presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton for President. In an endorsement video released by the Clinton campaign, Obama made it clear he wants Clinton to win the White House in order to preserve his legacy. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest also made this point clear during the daily briefing.  Shortly after the endorsement was made, President Obama met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch this afternoon in the Oval Office. The meeting was closed to the press.
  • Emails in Clinton Probe Dealt With Planned Drone Strikes. Some vaguely worded messages from U.S. diplomats in Pakistan and Washington used a less-secure communications system. (WSJ) — At the center of a criminal probe involving Hillary Clinton’s handling of classified information is a series of emails between American diplomats in Islamabad and their superiors in Washington about whether to oppose specific drone strikes in Pakistan.
  • AP Report: Clinton Private Emails ‘Could Have Compromised CIA Names.’ Hillary-Clinton-Biopic-RodhamThe Associated Press consulted security experts and reported Wednesday that there is a possibility that Hillary Clinton‘s use of a private email server could have compromised the names of CIA personnel. The issue begins ironically with the State Department’s release of Clinton’s emails at her request. Not every email can be released to the public unredacted, and the law requires that the State Department clearly indicate why redactions are made. 47 of the emails released so far were redacted with the notation “B3 CIA PERS/ORG,” indicating that the email referred to CIA information or personnel. The problem is that any foreign government or entity that might have seen Clinton’s emails before they were redacted now know exactly which names belong to CIA personnel.

5am – B         President Obama slow-jams the news with Jimmy Fallon, takes shots at Trump. (LA Times) — Aww, yeah. In an appearance on “The Tonight Show” on Thursday, President Obama slow-jammed the news with Jimmy Fallon.   The bit, which preceded a lengthy interview with the host, was a look back at Obama’s time in office, set to a sultry R&B rhythm. The president noted the accomplishments under his watch, including the Affordable Care Act, same-sex marriage, economic recovery and action on climate change. But with a presidential election heating up, he also took aim at Republican candidate Donald Trump – more than once.  “The American people face an important decision this fall,” Obama said. “The entire world is watching and they look to us for stability and leadership. Now, I know some of the presidential candidates have been critical of my foreign policy. I don’t want to name any names.”

President Obama: Presidency Is ‘Not Reality TV’ – Commander-in-Chief said Sanders pushed the Democratic Party, made Clinton “a better candidate” on ‘Tonight Show.’

5am – C         Fairfax Co. school meeting becomes heated over debate on transgender nondiscrimination policy. FALLS CHURCH, Va. – At a regularly scheduled school board meeting in Fairfax County, a number of parents and citizens came out to speak about pushing forward with transgender policy in schools — with the debate in particular about bathroom use. Several people were opposed to any changes and it was a heated meeting with people on both sides very passionate about this issue. On one side, you had transgender children talking about being uncomfortable using the bathroom at school along with heartbreaking stories of bullying.

5am – D         Teens These Days Aren’t Having Very Much Sex. “We may have shifted away from sex being a taboo that adolescents would sort of reach out for.” According to some fresh data released just today, it seems that teens these days (*shakes cane*) aren’t nearly as interested in sex as they once were.  The data comes from an annual survey by the CDC of “Youth Risk Behaviors,” which found that only 41 percent of the 16,000 high school students surveyed in 2015 said they’d had sex before, compared to 47 percent over the past decade. And to break it down further, about 43 percent of boys surveyed claimed to have had sex before, compared to 39 percent of girls.  According to the Associated Press, researchers are bamboozled by the “sharp decline” in sex amongst American high schoolers.

5am – E         Political Correctness and Bullying:

  • North Carolina high school prank upsets some Latino students. MARION, N.C. (AP) – A group of students at a western North Carolina high school built a wall made of boxes and blocked access to a common area, and their Latino classmates are upset. Local media outlets report the students were allowed into McDowell High School, about 100 miles northwest of Charlotte, on Wednesday to perform a prank as a teacher supervised them. A photo of the wall with about 30 students standing in front of it was shared on Instagram and captioned, “We built the wall first.”  Principal Edwin Spivey says one of the kids wanted to put a Donald Trump logo on it and was told he couldn’t do that. An Instagram account supporting Donald Trump reposted the photo, though, saying “McDowell High School students get the award for best #studentsfortrump senior prank. THEY BUILT A WALL!!”
  • Big data reports Latino support for Trump on the rise at 37%. (Fox News Latino) — It is evident that Donald Trump has rewritten the rules of political campaigning, leaving the so- called experts, analysts, journalists and even the GOP itself puzzled by the power and effectiveness of his approach.   Surprisingly, the candidates tie in negative sentiment across Hispanics at 38 percent, discounting the fact that Latinos default as Democrats or are completely turned off by Trump’s off-color comments. After all, over 50 percent of Latinos identify as political independents.

6am – A/B/C Fans bewildered by lack of country music at CMT Awards. (Fox News)- Viewers who tuned into last night’s CMT Music Awards were left wondering whether or not they were watching a country music awards show. The fan-voted show kicked off with a number of collaborative performances featuring country stars and others outside the genre, from rockers Cheap Trick to rapper Pitbull. Keith Urban, Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris started the show off at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. That was followed with an outdoor performance by Billy Ray Cyrus with recent Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick. Then, the show went back indoors for a performance by Pitbull, pop singer Leona Lewis and Cassadee Pope — all while Jason Aldean, Nicole Kidman and more watched in the audience. The performances did not leave fans happy with the show. “Can someone please explain to me why #Pitbull just performed at the #CMTawards? Wasting time when real county artists could be performing,” one viewer asked. “Why cut Cam short to have 5th Harmony ruin a show?” another asked when the “Burning House” singer sang with the pop group. Comedian and singer Wheeler Walker Jr. chimed in saying, “Take out the music & the hosts and this show isn’t half bad.”

6am – D         Hillary News:

6am – E         Twenty-one U.S. states sue Delaware over unclaimed checks. Twenty-one U.S. states led by Texas and Arkansas on Thursday announced a lawsuit against Delaware, accusing it of violating federal law by snatching up to $400 million in unclaimed checks that should have gone to other states. “Delaware has our money,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said at a news conference outside the U.S. Supreme Court. The suit was being filed directly at the Supreme Court, which typically hears cases only on appeal from lower courts but accepts certain lawsuits brought by one state against another. Paxton, a Republican, said the amount owed to the 21 states bringing the case exceeds $150 million and could reach $400 million in unclaimed checks for 49 states.
