WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Former D.C. mayor Vincent Gray is expected to announce today that he will run for Ward 7 Council Member.

Gray was mayor of D.C. from 2011 to 2015, when he lost the Democratic primary to Muriel Bowser.

His run as mayor was plagued by scandal, including a five-year federal investigation into his campaign finances.

Federal prosecutors decided not to file charges against him in December 2015.

Gray represented Ward 7 on the D.C. Council in the past, from 2003 to 2007.
