WASHINGTON (WMAL) — After area roads are finally snow free—there will just be one group of people left shoveling: The snow plow drivers.

“Trust me, they haven’t been home to clear their drivers or get a good night’s sleep since this storm started,” says Montgomery County Transportation Director Al Roshdieh.

Snow plow drivers have been working non-stop for days.

“Our men and women in Highway Services have been working smart, hard and round-the clock since last Thursday pre-treating and dealing with this snow.”

DC Emergency Management chief Christopher Geldart says they’re doing what they can to manage their drivers’ fatigue

“We’re getting good rest times for them, we’re trying to get them in and out and turned over quickly, make sure they’ve got something to eat when they come off,” Geldart told WMAL.
