WASHINGTON (WMAL) — With all the snow we’ve had, the phones have been ringing off the hook at local roofing companies….but there’s just ONE problem.
“We haven’t even been able to get to anybody’s house yet,” says Bob Kojak, owner of Bethesda Sheet Metal & Roofing.
“People forget that we have to drive to their houses, and when a snow plow comes through your office street and piles up four feet of ice, plus it freezes overnight, then it takes a lot to get out even, plus just trying to get into a neighborhood.”
And until a roofer can get to you, there’s not much you can do.
“They just have to sit tight–and you know [use] buckets if it’s [water] coming in, and mops and things like this.”
Paul Dow with Northern Virginia Roofing & Commercial Services told WMAL they’ve been telling the residential customers who they can’t access to give a call back once their roads are plowed.
“Some of the neighborhoods are tough to get to, but on the commercial side that we’re servicing we seem to have pretty good access,
Dow said.
