Relics from ‘Wonder Years’ Given to Smithsonian

WASHINGTON (AP) — Kevin Arnold's green New York Jets jacket that he always wore in "The Wonder Years" is becoming a piece of history along with other items from the popular TV show.

Fred Savage, who played Arnold, his mother and other cast members from the show donated costumes, studio tapes, scripts and Polaroid photos from the show Tuesday to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.

Savage says his mom likes to keep everything and had kept the jacket since the show ended in 1993. She would jokingly say the Smithsonian might want it one day. So he was surprised when the museum actually did want it.

Savage now directs TV shows including the hit, "Modern Family." He says "The Wonder Years" was special because it celebrated the achievements of everyday life.
