WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The Metropolitan Police Department issued a list of road closures for this weekend’s Marine Corps Marathon.
30,000 runners have signed up to participate in the race that runs through Washington and Arlington.
It’s the 40th anniversary of the marathon and coordinator Rick Nealis said that the race provides service members the chance to directly interract with the general public.
“If you’re out and looking for something to do this weekend, it’s a great time to be in Washington D.C.,” he said.
“Come out and cheer. Come out and just give that extra energy, motivation to those runners and help them get across.”
The following streets along the race route will be closed beginning at 4:00 am Sunday, October 25th, and are expected to re-open by 1:00 pm:
