WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The search has ended for the driver of a stolen vehicle that crashed into a gate at Fort Meade Wednesday before running off.
“The latest updates on the situation, and we don’t have many […] the suspect is in custody at this time…there’s really not much else I can give,” said Corporal Jacklyn Davis of the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
Anne Arundel County Police also tweeted out that the suspect was located attempting to hide in the woods in the area.
The suspect crashed on National Security Agency (NSA) property and fled on foot into the installation.
Fort Meade was under reduced operations Thursday. The Rochenbach gate at the base, where the crash occurred, remained closed.
Six Anne Arundel County schools were also closed on Thursday as a police precaution while they underwent the search for the suspect.
