WASHINGTON — (WMAL) The suspect in the shooting at a South Carolina Mall Wednesday, which left one police officer dead, is now in custody.
Forest Acres police officer Greg Alia was responding to a call of a suspicious person at Richland Mall. There was a struggle when Sealy tried confronting the suspect, and then a shot.
Alia later died of injuries he sustained in the shooting.
Forest Acres police said the suspect was armed with both a knife and a handgun. Police Chief Gene Sealy said this suspect was in questioning.
No details on any possible charges against the suspect have been released
