WASHINGTON — (WMAL) There’ll be no ‘Blank Space’ on this Maryland corn field. In fact, Summers Farm in Frederick is making one corn maze that will go beyond your ‘Wildest Dreams’.

That’s right: Summers Farm’s Fall 2015 corn maze will feature the likeness of pop star Taylor Swift, with microphone in hand, along with the slogan “Dare To Be Different.”

Jeff Summers, co-owner of Summers Farm, said he’s a big fan of Taylor Swift. Inspired by her kind acts and good nature, he decided, “I want to do Taylor Swift. Let’s see if we can get this done.”

“That’s really what we were trying to do,’ explained Summers, ‘honor who she is as a person and a role model for not only kids […] she’s a role model for everyone.”

“We’re happy that it seems like Taylor is very pleased with what we’ve done, too.”

And Summers is right. Taylor herself shared an aerial shot of the maze on her Instagram account, along with the caption, “Lawn goals.”

Summers Farms has been open for 19 seasons, with the annual corn maze being incorporated for 15 of those years. Past years’ maze themes have included the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, an election theme, the 200th anniversary of the Star Spangled Banner as well as a commemoration maze on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

However, Summers Farm isn’t the only one in Frederick who is playing maze artist with their corn field. Lawyer’s Farm in Thurmont has a corn maze featuring the likeness of Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan who is battling cancer, along with the catchphrase “#HoganStrong” and symbols that represent Maryland.

Gov. Hogan’s likeness and the symbols work together to embody the maze’s theme, “Maryland Pride”.

So you go talk to your friends, talk to their friends, talk to all. It looks like a corn maze war may be brewing in Frederick, but there are no signs of ‘Bad Blood’ thus far.

“We support everybody, and we hope they support us,” said Summers. “The tribute to Larry Hogan and what he is going through, we thought was a really, really great idea and a great way to bring awareness to those things also.”

Summers Farm will open up its maze from September 26 to November 1. Lawyer’s Farm Maze will open September 19 to November 1.
