Governor Glenn Youngkin announced on Friday that he had nominated former Republican Delegate Jackson Miller to lead the Department of Criminal Justice Services as the next director of the agency.

The agency that Miller is now set to lead is tasked with providing training and funding to law enforcement agencies, researching and improving the implementation of policy solutions related to criminal justice, and the regulation of private security companies.

Miller’s nomination was included in a slew of key administration appointments announced by the office of Governor Youngkin on Friday. The Youngkin Administration is rounding into form and filling key vacancies to help ensure the implementation of promises made on the campaign trail.

Regarding the new nominees announced, Youngkin issued the following statement: “This group of talented individuals will help achieve Virginia’s promise to be the best in class in education, business, and industry.  I’m so honored to have these leaders join the administration in strengthening the spirit of Virginia and delivering for Virginians.”
