The first state Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo of Florida, has come out in opposition to children ages 5-17 receiving the COVID vaccine. Ladapo was appointed by Governor Ron Desantis, who has been one of the most vocal critics of COVID related mandates.
- Center for Disease Control (CDC): Ladapo’s recommendation contradict those at the CDC who have called for children 5-17 to receive the Pfizer vaccine.

- CDC study: released last week showed that the Pfizer vaccine didn’t protect kids against the Omicron strain.
