Gas Prices Soar to $4 Per Gallon for First Time Since 2008

As Russia’s invasion into the Ukraine intensifies, the cost of gas here in America continues to rise. On Sunday, the national average per gallon of gas rose to over $4, marking the first time it had risen this high since 2008.

  • 41 cents: the amount that the cost per gallon rose in America since the Russia-Ukraine conflict began, according to AAA motor club.

  • Russian oil: Congress and the White House have not yet moved to ban the import of Russian oil or place energy sanctions on the country.
     
  • $5.29 per gallon: the current cost of gas in California.
