A recently released study from Amplify found that one-in-three children who began schooling during the pandemic are currently reading below their grade level.
- Parent’s outraged: across the country parents have grown more vocal with local school boards over covid restrictions that barred children from the classroom and forced mask mandates that, in many cases, limited children’s ability to learn.
- 47 percent: the number of kindergarteners that are currently reading at grade level. This number is down from 55 percent prior to the start of the pandemic.
- Mental health: beyond the devastating impacts on children’s literacy learning restrictions created by the pandemic have severely impacted children’s mental health.
