Andrew Cuomo, the disgraced governor who resigned in the face of sexual harassment charges last year, is said to be launching a comeback attempt. According to the New York Post, Cuomo’s comeback attempt will begin with a series of tv ads detailing how he has been fully exonerated from all sexual harassment charges.
- The former governor resigned last Fall after a number of women stepped forward claiming to have been sexually harassed by Cuomo.
- A commercial obtained by the New York Post showcases tv clippings of news reports claiming his exoneration.
- The commercial closes with the theme of Cuomo comeback attempt: “political attack ads won and New York lost a proven leader”
- Women’s rights groups are already pushing back. CEO of VOTERPROCHOICE tweeted: “He should be spending his days atoning for his abuse, not spreading more lies and re-victimizing women all over again.”
A Sienna College poll released on Thursday found that the majority of New Yorkers do not believe the governors new narrative of innocence and believe he is a repeat offender of sexual harassment.
