WASHINGTON — (WMAL) Right now, 1225 Fourth St. Northeast is just a gutted building, but come fall of 2015, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington plans to open its flagship health center. The Christian Defense Coalition vowed to do everything it can to stop the center, which they call an abortion clinic, from opening its doors.

“Over the past seven days the nation has been stunned by revelations concerning Planned Parenthood selling, trafficking parts for aborted babies for a proftit,” said the coalition’s leader Reverend Patrick Mahoney.

In a video on Planned Parenthood’s website, President Kirsten Powers said the fetal tissue is donated for medical research.

Standing next to the construction site for the center, Mahoney called on others to join his group’s opposition movement called Not in Our Town D.C.

“We do not want this center, which destroys innocent human life and diminishes women in our town,” Mahoney said.

The coalition will be at the center protesting on a regular basis.
