WASHINGTON – Fox News is reporting that the United States Postal Service has failed to meet a deadline set by a U.S. District Court judge on Tuesday to conduct a sweep of its facilities in several districts around the nation to locate any unprocessed ballots.
U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan had ordered the U.S. Postal Service to complete the sweep by 3 p.m. As a result of the missed deadline, 300,000 ballots lacked a delivery scan.
According to Fox News, the USPS issued the following statement earlier today.
“Given the time constraints set by this Court’s order, and the fact that Postal Inspectors operate on a nationwide basis, Defendants were unable to accelerate the daily review process to run from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. without significantly delaying preexisting activities on the day of the election.”
